Do you ever wonder who made your clothes? If you don't do it yet, it is about time you did. Often, handmade products are made at the cost of slave labour and inhuman working conditions. At Parvai, we ensure our process does not directly or indirectly support such practices, pay artisans their due & take pride in ensuring the saree we do, does not come at the cost of someone else's misery. Each saree is hence truly a labour of love. Our silk sarees are woven at our looms, fully supervised by Parvai's team from design to finish. The sarees pass through a QC before being sent to Ajrakpur for hand-block printing.

  • Woven by : Mariappan, ChinnaKanchipuram
  • Printed by traditional Ajrakh artists under the supervision of Mr Nasir Khatri

  • When we embarked on this project, we wanted to ensure the artisans from Ajrakpur worked on the best possible handloom sarees. Today, most of the Ajrak work is done on rayon/viscose base fabrics or cotton/silks woven in a power loom. The cotton yarns are often mercerized or highly twisted silks. With the ambition and vision to produce something genuinely worthy of being an heirloom piece, we embarked on this journey to get pure silk, pure zari sarees weaved explicitly in white and send them to Ajrakpur.

When we began working in the Kanchipuram and invested in looms, we wanted to generate opportunities not just for master weavers but also for simple projects that would keep the other weavers employed all year. This thought led us to work on simple designs we would weave for surface embellishments like printing & embroidery. These sarees are produced explicitly in consultation with the design team for our projects with various craft clusters in India.

Each saree in this series is a Parvai Original, and only one of every kind is produced. This means the wearer of the saree gets something genuinely unique and exclusive. Multiple pieces of the same designs are not made.

Note: This product is handwoven and handblocked, so slight irregularities might exist. Imperfections and variations in the product cannot be termed defects, as these are intrinsic to the handmade process. The product colours may vary due to the light sources or monitor setting.

Shipping: We offer free shipping. Upon purchase, the product is dispatched in a maximum of 7 to 10 business days. Returns are accepted within ten days of delivery. Cancellation requests will be accepted strictly within 24 hours of placing the order.

Urgent shipping within 2-5 days can be arranged at an additional charge based on the shipping location.
