At Parvai, we collaborate with Janab Saleem Akhtar, Weaver entrepreneur, Bajardiha, Varanasi. Thirty-five-year-old Salim Akhtar is a resident of Bajardiha, weaving has been his ancestral work, and he started learning it when he was ten years old. As the eldest son in the family, Salim took over the responsibility of growing the business and taking the same to the next level up. He started with five handlooms and took those to 25 currently. He gives employment to 10 weavers and desires to enhance this number.
