Our Tribute to the Mahatma
दे दी हमे आजादी
बिना खडग बिना ढ़ाल
साबरमती के संत
तूने कर दिया कमाल.
गांधी जयंती कि शुभकामनाएं
These remind me that in order to satisfy our soul , you should focus on finding ways to serve deserved people around you...
As an ambassador of heritage and craft I have come to understand weavers better and support them in the best way I can. We are in the process of finding deserving artisans around India, and encouraging them to grow through Parvai. We are exhibiting valuable products and showing society the true essence of Indian handicrafts. Through our honest and sincere efforts, we not only adding value to our community, but also finding our purpose and delineating our values.
We are defined by the love we share and the connections we make. Great things never come from comfort zone. For realization of our initiative, we should dream big and share love, the harder we work for the same, greater the feel when we achieve it.
Serving the humanity is a noble virtue. Acts of service to other human beings not just lifts the others but also helps find one's own self. Being thankful to God and one way to express gratitude is by selflessly contributing to the society through what ever means that one has.
As an ambassador of heritage and craft I take pride in promoting the work of local artisans of India who strive to keep the traditional art alive. The upliftment and recognition of the artisans and serving their cause is my method of contributing to the society. Identifying crafts and weaves from all corners of our beautiful country is a task that we have undertaken and to let the world recognize and value the people behind it. I believe that if we have the passion we as team can change the world and I look forward to executing this thought with my fellow Ambassadors.
“In a gentle way, you can shake the world” - Mahatma Gandhi. That’s precisely what we in AHC are trying to do in our own small / gentle way. Another very powerful quote that resonates with what we do in AHC - “The future depends on what you do today” We are trying to imbibe the great Mahatma’s ideology in the way we conduct ourselves and it is our strong belief that we have to start now for our future generation and the future of our artisans and weavers.

Serving humanity is the best way of showing gratitude for being human. As an ambassador of heritage & crafts, I am trying my best to do my bit for the betterment of artisans and preserving Indian heritage and culture. Keeping up the Gandhian spirit, I commit to continuing my efforts to positively impact the lives of those who uphold the craft & culture of my country. I hope the Swadeshi Spirit becomes a nationwide movement someday once again.

On this special day, the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma , remembering him and his teachings, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others" is one quote from the Mahatma that we try to imbibe as an ambassador of heritage & crafts. As a responsible ambassador, with due respect to the artisans and conscious efforts to know our rich heritage, we are trying to create self sustainable model for our artisans. This effort goes a long way to preserve our culture, for the generations to come and also enabling our artisans to have a better livelihood.

The future depends on what we do in the present- Mahatma Gandhi.
As an ambassador of heritage & crafts I am trying to follow the same path in a small way to benefit the craftsmen of my country. Hope I continue to keep this spirit up and create respect and special place in this modernized world.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

As an ambassador of heritage and crafts , I have pledged to support the society with my actions to the best of my capability. It is definitely not easy to walk the talk from seven seas across the nation but with my fellow mates we are achieving small steps. Righteousness and Empathy and the two emotions that are required and I am fully confident that it will be possible to achieve the dream.

I got the opportunity to understand the joy of giving by spending a day with the villagers of Vishar- the village where some of our looms are set. The content and the satisfaction it gave cannot be measured neither be mentioned in words. The smile on the faces of the people said it all.
As an ambassador I connect with the artisans and work together.
For a cause he strongly believed in - one that of appreciating the swadeshi produces and supporting the livelihood of many involved in textile making , I strongly feel there is no other day better than his birthday to remind ourselves and recommit to the cause of supporting the artisans and crafts men.

In a gentle way, you can shake the world’ - Mahatma Gandhi said. As an ambassador of heritage & crafts I don’t underestimate the little things that can make a big difference. I believe, a small act of kindness can make someone’s day.
I along with a few others, have promised ourselves that even if it is small, we will never stop taking those baby steps to embrace anything & everything - Swadeshi!

As an individual, I do try to go beyond myself in the service of others. But, it’s not always successful since I have so many human foibles and selfishness me... more often than not, the self triumphs over others.
With my association with AHC, I have found a cause which resonates deeply with my personal beliefs, be it our rich Indian heritage or craft or specifically, textiles. All in all, AHC provides a platform to be of service to society in a meaningful manner and also drives home the point that there is strength in the collective than in an individual

As an Ambassador of Heritage and Craft, I have begun to discover the opportunities this world has given to me. A lifelong opportunity to seek out my sense of purpose, getting clarity on what my values are. I have understood that what truly matters is to have goals that extend beyond my little inner world.
AHC has presented myself this opportunity to think beyond myself and touch the lives of others. I strive to be a conscious customer believing in the power of handcrafted products, I learnt to be transparent, to have humility, to be tolerant, have enough and more love and kindness. I firmly believe that social transformation should begin at home, and with the AHC way of life, I genuinely believe in the change from within will lead me to see the changes outside.

Over the last 5 years, I had the privilege to see up-close the lives of some farmers, craftsmen, dyers, spinners, weavers, reed makers, and several other skilled workers who sustain the handicraft/ handloom heritage of my country. It is clearly a section of people who require the immediate attention and support.
This Gandhi Jayanti as an ambassador of heritage & crafts, I resolve to dedicate a part of my time, as I map out my life’s work, to those in distress and need, with no consideration of recompense. My skills are needed, whatever they may be. My helping hands will lift someone out of the mire of distress. My steady voice will give encouragement to some who might otherwise simply give up. My skills can change the lives, in a remarkable and wonderful way, of those who walk in need. If not now, when? If not me, who?
As we stand on the cusp of a new dawn of understanding, a new era of valuing one another, a new period of love and respect, let's make a pledge to help heal ourselves and those around us by committing to something larger than ourselves -- by committing to give back in whatever way we can.
We can all make a difference in changing and improving the lives of others -- while improving ourselves and serving as a role model for others. It's time to put the community back into community service.

Mahatma lead his life on the principle of Swavalambhan or self reliance. This principle and emotion has had a great impact on my life and I am trying my best to follow this in all aspects of my life, however significant or insignificant the act maybe. I am proud to walk this path with all my fellow ambassadors of heritage & crafts and remember the Mahatma on his birthday for his simplicity, way of life and the path he lead our country on.
